The rapid influx of low-cost Chinese laser systems for household welding, cutting, and cleaning applications demands increased attention from everyone involved. Many of these products are marketed as CE-certified Class 4 lasers, but users should understand that operating such equipment carries significant responsibilities and potential risks.

The primary responsibility always lies with the manufacturer, supplier, and reseller.

When purchasing directly from a manufacturer outside the European Union, it can be extremely difficult to hold that manufacturer accountable for technical shortcomings, safety deficiencies, or non-compliance with European legislation.

As a Belgian manufacturer of industrial laser cleaning equipment, P-Laser is fully accountable for the machines we place on the European market. Our systems are designed and manufactured to comply with the applicable European Machinery and Laser Safety standards. This responsibility extends beyond the technical quality of the equipment.

We have a duty to ensure that every customer understands the hazards associated with operating a Class 4 laser. This includes providing comprehensive training, clear operating instructions, risk assessments, and recommending or supplying all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety measures. Our objective is to reduce risks to the lowest practical level while enabling our customers to benefit from the performance of industrial laser technology.

A Class 4 laser is a powerful industrial tool—not a household appliance. Safe operation depends on responsible engineering, proper training, appropriate protective equipment, and compliance with established safety procedures.
